Autonomous navigation is the ability of a vehicle to move from one location to another without a human driver — using sensors, maps and onboard computing to understand its environment and make real-time decisions.
WOX Relay's navigation is designed for controlled environments — campuses, industrial facilities, airports and managed outdoor areas — where routes are pre-defined and the operating zone is known. This approach enables reliable, repeatable autonomous operation within a defined site.
Pre-mapped routes define the paths Relay follows. Routes are created during site commissioning and stored in the WOX Fleet Platform.
Relay continuously determines its position using GNSS, onboard sensors and pre-mapped site data — maintaining accurate positioning throughout each mission.
Cameras, radar and ultrasonic sensors detect obstacles in real time — people, vehicles, objects — and trigger appropriate responses.
When an obstacle cannot be avoided, Relay adjusts its path or stops and alerts the remote operations team for assistance.
